Lucia Cesaroni

Lucia Cesaroni, an Italian-Canadian soprano known for her "lush, creamy voice," commands the stage as some of opera's most coveted heroines. In the 2022/23 season, she debuted on The Metropolitan Opera roster, covering Olga in Giordano’s Fedora, and delivered captivating performances as Violetta in La Traviata with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony and Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at Pacific Opera Victoria. In the 2023/24 season, Ms. Cesaroni joined Calgary Opera as Susanna in Le ozze di Figaro and reprised the role of Ava in Rocking Horse Winner with Tapestry Opera. This summer, she will be a featured performer with Chamberfest West and sing the soprano solo in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 at the Aspen Music Festival under the baton of esteemed conductor James Conlon. Looking ahead to the 2024/25 season, Ms. Cesaroni is slated to portray Norina in Don Pasquale at Calgary Opera and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at Vancouver Opera. In addition to her busy performing schedule, Ms. Cesaroni is the founder of Cesaroni Consulting, offering workshops and coaching in the corporate and post-secondary sectors. She is passionate about articulating the value of artists outside of the performing arts and creating more interdisciplinary thought and practice in North America. To further this end, Lucia is a regular contributor to Opera Canada in her column "Stage Business".
